Hi Everyone! So I guess 1am will be my new blogging time. Kennedy has been on the same schedule since last Friday. She seems to wake up around 9pm and stays pretty fussy until around 1-1:30am! Daddy goes to sleep around 10:30pm and KT and mommy stay up rocking and listening to the country music channel. I had no idea I knew the words to so many songs! LOL! We took Kennedy to the doctor this morning. She gained a whole pound in the last week! Clocking in a 7lbs 3 oz. She has a little bit of baby acne which the doctor says could stay with her for up to 3 months. We are watching her birth mark for any changes just because it is so large but other than that she is doing excellent!! My doctor also called this morning and turns out I have a pretty bad infection in my insicion, so I'm on an antibiotic and go in on Thursday morning again! I feel great and have a pretty good amount of energy, so hopefully that will all clear up soon! Papa and Aunt Carli are driving in tomorrow in the middle of the night and should get here sometime Thursday afternoon! I know they just can't wait to get here and visa versa! Well, motherhood is calling...the swing only works for so long...LOL!

Daddy's Girl!!

We are having a great week so far. Grandma has been spoiling mommy and letting her sleep lots and lots! Kennedy is doing great. She has little chub rolls in her thighs now and lost her belly button yesterday morning! We went to print pictures on Thursday and after looking at 97 pictures, I have two pictures of me and K.T. and we have over 30 pictures of her and Kendal. Every chance he has he is holding her. I've dubbed him "the baby hog" She perks up everytime he talks to her, he's the only one who can get really great burps out of her, and they are always falling asleep and cuddling together. It makes me smile and well up with tears and I catch myself staring at the two of them constantly! I love watching them together! Its such an amazing feeling to have such a happy family and I never knew it was possible to love two people SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Complete Exhaustion!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged in so long, but as you can imagine we've been quite busy! Kennedy is growing more and more everyday! Just in the last week Kendal and I have both noticed how different she is looking since we first brought her home! She sleeps through the night pretty well. Only waking up about every 2-3 hours to eat and be changed and then she falls right back to sleep! Although she sleeps so well, I was starting to feel the effects of the lack of sleep at the beginning of the week! Thank God grandma Peck arrived Tuesday morning! She wasn't here for more than 30 minutes when Kendal headed upstairs and took a 2 hour nap! I fell asleep soon after that as well! Kendal was headed back to work the next morning so to ensure he could get an ample amount of sleep that evening Kennedy and I moved into the spare room with Grandma! After an hour and a half of Grandma getting out of bed every 4-6 minutes to make sure Kennedy was sleeping, I couldn't take it anymore. She was making me
so nervous and anxious! So I got up, grabbed all of my pillows and pulled the bassinet back into my bedroom! It was so halarious so I've been told to watch me limp with a stack of pillows dragging my child in her bed across the hall, waking up my husband, yelling I'm sorry Mom but I just can't sleep with you...you're a nut! Since then, Grandma and Daddy sleep through the night and I wake up with K.T. through out the evening so that through the day I can take little cat naps and Grandma can watch her! Its working out quite nice and I am trying not to get too used to it because Grandma is going to go home eventually! I'm very blessed to have such a wonderful baby and such an understanding mom and hubby! We should have more pictures up this week! But I have to go eat my birthday cake...The years are only going to fly by now!! Hope you are all having an awesome week!

The day has finally come!

It's midnight, the eve before we go in to get this event underway and of course I can't sleep. However, my husband is upstairs right now snoring away! I've wanted this day to come for so long and now I think I'm having a minor heart attack. I'm not nervous about being a mom what so ever, I'm not over whelmed by the exhaustion I am soon facing, I'm not even worried about the adjustment of having a new born at home. BUT... I am panicking about the severe pain I am about to experience.
At this point most woman resort back to being little girls and are asking for their mom's. But I want the one person who I know can make me feel secure and calm...
I want my daddy:-(
Growing up, I was very accident prone. Always had some sort of a stomach ache, sore throat, or a twisted ankle! And even though the mere sight of a needle can send my dear old dad straight to his knees he was the one who always took me to the doctor or E.R. He would hold my hand, cheer me on when I had to drink some nasty medicine, and play with all of the instruments in the room to make me laugh so I wouldn't think about why we were there in the first place. Even when I was practically on my death bed with my stomach split open for two weeks, he was with me everyday making me laugh, sneaking me milk shakes, and even pouring a quarter of my barium down the sink for me and telling the nurse I drank it, just so I wouldn't have to suffer anymore! My poppy has always been my comfort blanket when I have been in pain and I'm going to admit I secretly wish he was w/ me tomorrow. Although I'm sure Kendal will do an amazing job holding my hand and telling me everything will be okay, he has never been a witness to me when I have been in severe pain or feeling super ill! I'm afraid he's going to think he married a devil woman! lol! He will do great! I just want my dad to know I wish he was with me too and I can only hope Kennedy will have the same kind of relationship with Kendal that I have with my daddy! Well, I suppose I should go try to get some rest, next time ya'll read this I'LL BE A MOMMY!
Love to all:-) Especially you grandpa!!!!!

TGIF!

Well, its our very last weekend before becoming parents, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my husband for putting up with me for the last 9 months! I know I have been difficult (to say the very least) and he has been wonderful through it all! Whether it was bringing me a tissue because I was sitting on the couch crying for no reason at all, running out and getting me strawberry smoothies almost every night for 2 months straight, rubbing my feet (even though they smelled like rotten eggs after work) or attending EVERY SINGLE doctors appointment with me, Kendal has been the worlds most supportive husband/daddy-to-be every step of the way! When you read this, if you would, please keep Kendal in your prayers or send him a little sympathy e-mail...he needs it. Just the other night I had another, what I like to call, "hormone overload" and I told Kendal I needed to wash the kitchen floor. He looked at me and said, then go get the bucket and wash it. But I looked back at him with the most pouty face possible and said "I don't want to use that bucket anymore, I want a new one, and I want it to be pink!" He jumped up and said very loudly "Well then, by all means woman, lets go get you a flippin PINK bucket"
So we got in the car and drove to wal-mart. He held my hand and led me to the cleaning supply area and showed me a variation of cleaning buckets. I looked at them and then looked up at him and said "but they're not pink!" So he grabbed my hand and practically drug me to another area of the store and found me another group of buckets! But guess what...Those weren't pink either! So off we went, still on a mission. He found me, pink glasses, and pink bowls, a pink basin, even a pink shoe, but no pink bucket. As we continued on our hunt I found another group of buckets in the car area. These buckets were yellow, blue, green even orange. And after looking for a pink bucket for over an hour I was content to settle on the orange bucket. But not Kendal, he put that orange bucket down, grabbed my hand and tugged me the other direction. He said, we aren't leaving this darn store until we find you a pink bucket. After still searching for another 20 minutes and not having any luck, he let me buy the orange bucket. We laughed the entire time and on our way home Kendal looked at me and said, "its my turn to blog, I'm going to tell everyone how I spent my entire evening looking for a pink bucket because my wife is pregnant and crazy"
So, needless to say, I have decided to tell on myself for my hubs, because he's just to nice to rat me out! It just goes to show, that I do really have to worlds greatest husband and I couldn't have asked for any better! I love you so much honey, and I can't wait to see how well Kennedy gets you wrapped around her little finger too! J/K You're going to be an amazing daddy!
Have a terrific weeekend everyone!

BABY UPDATE:

We went to the doctor this morning and guess what everyone...This was the very first appointment when doc didn't have anything to say about my weight! I only gained 1 LBS this time...Waaahhhooo! I know, I know, you're all saying "its only been a week since your last appt" but I was pretty excited! Any how... we have to be at the hospital by 6 am on Monday morning. After about 2 hours of paperwork and admitting my doctor should arrive around 8am! She will then start me on an antibiotic for the "b bacteria" and then cervidal to help me start dialating. She said some women react great to the "help" and have a baby within several hours and others may lay there for a good 16 hours before anything happens! She has a feeling I will be one of those 16+ hour girls! If she still isn't with us by noon on Tuesday, Dr Orr assured me she won't let me be tourtured anymore and we will re-evaluate our options! But as of right now, the plan is to go all natural... we'll see how long I can take it!
Thats it for now...I think Kendal and I are off to the pool today, its too beautiful outside to spend one more minute in this house! Happy Tuesday!

Only 11more days!

It has been confirmed, Monday, June 9th at 6am, We will head to Summerville Medical Center and start the induction of our little miracle! I have one more appointment with Dr. Orr on Tuesday June 3rd just to make sure we don't need to go in any sooner than that! I think it has finally sunk in with both of us, that we will be parents in just over a week! I am finishing going through the 4th box of clothes this week and making sure everything is neat, clean and completely organized...Can we say nesting??? I think I am officially driving Kendal crazy! I never knew how long 11 days could seem! Although I have been told by quite a few, that after the 10th poopy diaper, and multiple 2 am feedings, I'll probably being begging for those 11 days back! Have a great Thursday Everyone! Oh, and don't want to forget... HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY TO THE WORLD'S BEST BROTHER-IN-LAW!! WE LOVE YA JARED!

Some of the picture files were too big, hence why Kendal is cut out of some of them...I have to figure out how to re-size them! Bear with me!
"Grandma's Get Ready"

Doctor Update:
We went to the doctor this morning! We found out I tested positive for Group B bacterica. The group B streptococcus bacteria is usually harmless in healthy adults, but it can cause a relatively rare but very serious infection in newborns. Between 10-30 percent of pregnant woman carry the bacteria, but with proper treatment during labor the risk to the baby is very small! I will be put on an antibiotic during labor to ensure everything will be okay! I gained three more pounds, NOT HAPPY! Doc measured my belly and said "Oh Carrie, this is no small baby...we're going to have to induce you honey!" So... we looked at the calender and as of right now, we will be induced on Monday, June 9th (10 days before my birthday) We are waiting for confirmation from the hospital that there will be a room available for us! Pretty nerve racking... Only 12 more days! We got back our belly pictures last night... we think they turned out pretty well! Hope you all enjoy them!!!
Let the Countdown begin!

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

We hope everyone had a terrific memorial day weekend! Kendal & I sure stayed busy! Friday evening we went to dinner with a handful of some really great friends! Saturday we spent the entire day out on the river, Sunday was a day full of shopping! And Monday we headed out to the beach! It was a beautiful weekend and we couldn't have asked for more!
This morning I met w/ Shannon, Keith & the kids for breakfast and then sent them off with a tearful goodbye to the airport! Shannon made sure to slip me a bag of malley's chocolate from her trip to Cleveland, so I'd have something to cheer up with! And so far...its working! haha!
We go to the doctor again tomorrow morning, so I will have an update for everyone when we get home! We're praying I'll at least be a centimeter this time! I don't know how much more of this I can take, I even slept in the spare bedroom last night because otherwise I keep Kendal up all night flipping and flopping around~ Keep your fingers crossed everyone!

"Friendship is like peeing on yourself, everyone can see it; but only you get the warm feeling it brings"

Against the advice of our doctor and the begging and pleading of my mother, Kendal and I loaded up the car at 9am yesterday morning and headed out to the river with about 25 of our friends! After about an hour of packing the coolers, blowing up rafts, and dragging everything to the water we finally "set sail" We had a pretty bad storm roll through the night before, so with all of the rain, the water was pretty high and moving quite fast! The sun was in and out all day and the temperature of the water was comparable to a glass of ice. Of course everyone around me was staying warm by chugging beer after beer, doing shots of tequila, and peeing in the water one right after the other (which I suppose when you are drunk is quite funny) I on the other hand just sailed on, nice and quiet, keeping to myself and trying not to wiggle too much, in hopes that the cold water wouldn't splash up higher than my waist! We had been in the water for about two hours when the alcohol began to catch up with Kendal. Being nine months pregnant and 100% sober I didn't find him or the others around us too comical. We still had about two more hours of floating, and I had just about enough. So I floated the rest of the trip in silence and when I finally saw the end I was so relieved I could have cried! Kendal drug me to the shore, deflated the rafts and I disappeared to the car as fast as possible. It took about 40 minutes to drive home, we unpacked the car, jumped in the shower and past out until about 8:30pm. I'm pretty sure I would have rather remembered river floating from summers past, when splashing and tipping each other was fun, the sun was hot and the water warm but in typical K&C hard headed-ness, we didn't listen to the advice of anyone! But I'm pretty sure Kendal enjoyed the first half of the trip and got in probably his last float of the year, since daddy-hood will take priority this summer!
Hope everyone has a super Sunday:-)

"Men are like parking spots, the good ones are taken, and the free ones are handicapped"

I found myself going through some of our pictures yesterday afternoon and couldn't help but laugh hysterically when I came across a few from not too long ago. In a previous post I told you all about Kendal and his co-workers and how ridiculous they can be at times. Well, I found a few pictures that I just have to share with everyone. Like I said before, our group gets together every weekend to play games and relaxes after a hectic week. All of the ladies usually bring the same snack every time because otherwise the boys complain when their favorite is missing. Danielle brings buffalo chicken dip, Dez brings salsa or quacamole (but we haven't had quacamole in 9 months because Kendal eats so much of it, it permiates his skin for days and I can't stand the smell, so Dez is under strict orders to only make salsa for right now) Tara brings homemade conqueso dip and because I don't cook, I always bring a fruit tray w fruit dip that the boys refer to as "Crack dip"
Well, we typically make the dip prior to going to the get togethers but on this particular evening, we bought the stuff to make the dip on the way there and I planned on whipping it up once we got there. However, Dez' hand mixer was a battery operated one and the batteries were dead! So how else will we whip up the "Crack dip?" Leave it to the group of genius men we married to find the solution. I will allow the pictures to do the explaining as to what they decided to do! But it worked great, and no one had to go with out their pineapples and fluff! LOL! Have a great weekend everyone~
