whoops

I'm a bit out of order, but I meant to add these photos of Kennedy before we headed to the airport last week! She looked so cute and smiled the entire day!

First Day in Ohio

On our very first night in Ohio I was quickly reminded what the air felt like in late September. I guess I've been away from the north for too long because I couldn't stop shivering. I remember as a kid loving fall time. I loved opening the windows, wearing sweaters, the feel of the crisp breeze. But now, after living with palm trees and ocean breezes I can't stand the chill in my bones. My parents have been teasing me because I have been walking around in sweatshirts and longs pants with socks and slippers and blankets wrapped around me...and its only September! My mom snapped this shot of me sleeping on the couch on our first night! BRRRR~ I can't stand how cold I am, so I can only imagine how Kennedy has been feeling. So she's been wrapped up in long thick sweaters, sleepers and thick socks too. We were both so exhausted after all of that traveling...we both slept almost the whole first day!

First Plane Ride!

Just a super quick update...I will try to blog this week, but as most of you know, Kennedy and I flew into Cleveland late last night and will be here for the next 3 weeks! KT did awesome on the planes. She thought the flight attendants were so funny when they were doing their demonstrations, she kept giggling out load and making all of the other passengers laugh! She only cried during take off and landing. I think the loud noise of the engine startled her and the landing was making her ears pop! So I just gave her a bottle and she did fine! I will get some pictures up asap!

This & That!

This past weekend we had a surprise baby shower for our friends Zack & Desire! Of course, little miss Kennedy was the belle of the ball and was passed all around the room...Have I mentioned how SPOILED she is yet??
IN EVEN BIGGER NEWS! The Browns faced off against our longtime rival The Steelers, this Sunday. And even though we lost (what else is new) it was still a great opportunity for Kennedy to debut her newest dress from Grammy & Papa! She looked so cute! I can't wait until she can hold pom poms!

Pouting over the score ( or maybe it was because she hated that bow I put in her hair, lol)

Date Night!

Last Friday night we decided to go out to dinner with a few friends! We are so blessed to have so many friends who have just welcomed their own little bundles of joy as well! Out of all of the couples Kendal and I spend our weekends with 7 of them either had a baby in the past three months or are having a baby in the next 4 months! It is comforting to know that when we go out together no one needs to feel uncomfortable about running to the bathroom to change a diaper or heat up a bottle or even burp their baby during dinner! We enjoy getting out of the house and hearing everyone else's cute stories of the week! The only down fall when we all get together is that we become a HUGE attention grabber and our meals often get interrupted with lots of women stopping by to talk to each baby! We don't really mind too much though, its a small price to pay to get out of our houses and spend some much needed adult time with one another!

Christopher, Sean, & Kennedy

Brian, Andrea, & Sean

Chris & Jess (Christopher was sleeping)

Kennedy had to sit in daddy's lap the entire time so she could see what was going on...She's so Rotten!

Keeping us company!

This week we had the pleasure of watching our good friends, Brian and Andrea's son Sean! Sean is just two weeks older than Kennedy and she just loves him to death! Being two weeks ahead of Kennedy, Sean has mastered the art of grabbing whatever is in front of him and is awesome at shaking rattles! Kennedy was so entertained by watching him in action all day. They layed on the floor together and Kennedy just talked and talked and talked while eventually Sean got tired of her mouth and rolled the other directions...Boy did this make our little princess MAD! She started talking louder and louder until it turned into an all out scream (which grabbed his attention again) and then she was fine. Kendal had a talk with his daughter later that day explaining that she would be dealing with this type of problem probably for the rest of her life, because mommy has to do the same thing to him almost every day! The kids had a great day with one another, and it was a great reminder to both Kendal and I as to why we will be waiting quite a while before we even think about another baby!!!! SUCH WORK! God bless those with multiples!

Kennedy's 3 months old!

Where does the time go?? I remember my mom always saying things like that to her friends...and used to think to myself...what are they talking about, that clock at school ticks SOOO SLOW! But now, in my adult life, especially after having a child of my own, I can't believe how quickly life can pass you by. It seems like just yesterday, my HUGE pregnant body was laying on the couch complaining that I was never going to have this baby! And now she is THREE MONTHS OLD, full of personality! She cries and whines, smiles and giggles and even talks! I can't believe how big she is getting :-(
As a side note, for those of you who were curious about the hurricane status~ it flew right past us! Kendal had to leave last Thursday morning and head up to Ohio (of all places) leaving Kennedy and I home alone to ride out the storm. The meteorologist had me freaking out all week because they kept telling everyone to run out and get their supplies because they were predicting the storm to hit us right on! I called several of the other wives and they were left alone as well. So on Friday morning I packed up Kennedy and I and we drove over to our friend Des' home for a hurricane sleep over party! There were 5 women ( two of them very pregnant) a two year old, a three month old and THREE DOGS! We had a great time and that BIG storm that was supposed to hit us, turned out to only be a 20 minute sprinkle! Kendal came home yesterday and now we are just waiting to see what Hurricane Ike will bring us! Hope everyone has a great week! Love you all!

Happy Labor Day!

About two weekends ago we went out to dinner with a big group of friends. Kendal went around the table and asked everyone what their plans were for the four day weekend. Everyone was either going out of town or already had plans. So he asked me if I wanted to do something just our little family. I was so excited and asked him if we could go out of town. He was thinking more along the lines of the beach or somewhere closer. But after a week of persuading him...he finally said, Okay, lets go see your parents! So I only had three days to pack all of us (which if anyone knows me at all, then you know I need months to plan these sort of things, make lists, and be way overly organized, And this time we had to add a baby to the mix, lol) This was not even the worst part, Kendal said I couldn't tell anyone we were coming because he wanted it to be a surprise. ( well, we all know how well I am at keeping secrets) I finally broke down and called my sister. I had to tell someone! So we loaded up the car and headed north on the LONG 12 hour drive. I was so nervous because I didn't know how Kennedy was going to react to being in her carseat for that long. But much to our suprise she did awesome. She only cried twice, and it was because I didn't make her bottle fast enough. She actually had her first giggles in the car! She loved it! I will never forget the look on my parents faces when we showed up at their door step at 11 o'clock at night! They were so excited!

The next morning my parents still had to get up to go to work. So Kendal and I got dressed and went to my mom's office so she could show off her grandbaby!

Next, we called my brother, Cody and surprised him with the news that we were in town early, (I am going back to town on Sept. 24th for a month so he had no idea I was at my parents) "Uncle Bubby" was so excited to see his new neice! She loved him, she cried everytime he walked away from her. He fed her, burped her, and helped me give her a bath since it's still kind of hard for me to bend over the tub with my insicion (yes it's still open") I had never really seen my brother around babies so it was pretty funny to see him so facinated by her!
After "Uncle Bubby" left my very best friend, Lindsay came over to see Kennedy for the first time! Now as most of you know Lindsay has absolutley no interest in babies or any such thing. She would perfer to be out on the town with her girlfriends! But for some reason she was just so in love with Kt! She changed her diaper for me and played with her on the floor she got jealous when other people wanted to hold her! It was so cute!

My cousins Theresa and Amy came by to see Kennedy as well! And thankgod they did, because my cousin Theresa is a nurse and I asked her to change my dressing on my insicion so it wouldn't get infected! Thanks Theresa!
Then Papa came home from work and you could forget about anyone else holding her for the night! He is so in love with her and visa versa! I don't think Kenendy even loves me or Kendal as much as she loves her papa! She kept giggling at him and smiled everytime he walked in the room. and whenever she would cry all he had to do was pick her up and she was fine again! After such a busy day of visitors she fell right to sleep! She's wasn't used to all of the attention! And of course...she fell right to sleep in her papa's arms, while probably watching sports, just the way mommy used to!

The next day we had a pretty slow morning. We had a few visitors and then had to go grocery shopping. It was a beautiful day out, so dad and Kendal were going to rent Harley's and go riding for the day but after they found out it cost $100 and a $2,000 deposit they quickly changed their minds. So Kendal took out my dads bike and we the rest of us got ready for a "front yard" Cookout!
On Sunday, we decided to drive about an hour to one of the Labor Day Fair's that were in town!
Kendal and Kennedy cooling off in the shade!
That morning we realized that we hadn't brought our stoller with us, so grammy and papa ran up to the store and bought her one, that she could keep at their house so we wouldn't have to always remember one! They are the best!It was so hot out and papa was worried about his baby because her cheeks were getting red so he let her borrow his hat!
Once we got home, Kendal and I decided she really needed a bath but what we didn't realize is that she had gotten a little too much sun. So when we put her in the tub she started SCREAMING (she had a little sun burn on her head and feet) and she didn't stop screaming until about 8 o'clock that night when papa layed on the couch with her and sang the christopher robin song in her ear and helped her fall asleep! After holding her for two hours my dad really needed to get up. But Kennedy was still sound asleep. So we handed her off to "Uncle Bubby" and Elisabeth, and they held her for a good 2 hours before she finally woke up! We had a great time visiting everyone and can't wait to come back in three weeks! We love all of you! Oh, I can't leave my baby sister out. For some reason I don't have any pictures of her and the baby on my camera (they must all be on my mom's) so here is a cute snap shot of Carli and "Her Boo" (thats what she has always called Kendal) We love you sis!
