Heading to the Airport...had to put out our sign!!
YAY! Finally together again!
"Nana & Pa" came in the next afternoon! So Exciting to have them here!
First things First...Let's Bowl! Kennedy passed the ball around and made sure everyone got a turn! And no matter if you got a strike or hit nothing at all... she was sure everyone got a round of applause and a great big~ YAY!
Since Kendal missed Easter we postponed the festivities until he was home! That evening we dyed Easter eggs together! Kennedy's first time!
The next morning we ate a delicious breakfast and then headed out for an Easter Egg hunt! Another first for Kennedy! It was pretty chilly so we only stayed out for about 10 minutes. And I wish I would have had my camera on towards the end of our hunt because a squirrel snatched one of the eggs and took off up a tree. Being the good daddy Kendal is, he chased after that squirrel and went round and round a tree BARKING at it! The squirrel eventually dropped the egg and went on his way. I was just so stunned by the whole event it never dawned on me to turn on my camera! But it was way too funny not to share!
"No time for this basket Nana, on to my next egg!"
We came inside to open all of our gifts from the Easter Bunny!
Her Favorite! Her very own water sink to do the dishes in!!
A tent with a tunnel!
Later that evening the adults played a few games~ note to self...
buy Mom & Dad some new board games! Note to everyone else...don't ever play the game therapy! LOL! just kidding it was a good time!
The next day we headed over to a local farm to check out the animals and have a picnic!
First thing we saw were 4 baby sheep that were screaming "BAAAA" of course my little animal lover was so excited and kept yelling back "HI BA, HI" haha
And then in the distance we saw a kitty who ended up coming right to us...You would have thought she died and went to heaven! Oh when will this cat obsession end! lol
"Hey Ba, those are my snacks"
Wagon ride with Daddy:-)
As we all know, nature and I don't get along very well...This cow licked my baby right up the side of her face~ I almost had a heart attack! Although, while Kendal was home we seemed to have spent a lot of time up close and personal with all kinds of animals (as you will see later) and I've learned to love these adorable creatures! Minus their slober of course!
Heading to our picnic with Pa!
Later that day trying out her new bubble blower!
And with her new hat and apron from Nana! Such a cutie workin in her kitchen!
The following day we headed to the local nature center!
Checkin out the turtles...
and the bunnies...
and the ducks...
and lets not forget our favorite... THE WATER FOUNTAIN! I'd like to thank Nana for showing Kennedy the joys of the drinking fountain! We are now sure to stop and visit everyone we see! HAHAHA...just giving you a hard time, Mom!
We stopped by Uncle Bubby's house.
Nosy Rosey being sure to keep up!
She was also sure to inspect their flowers~ don't worry Bub they smell great and she only stepped on one or two! lol
I made sure daddy got his fair share of taking her baby for walks while he was home~ lol
We scoped out my hometowns historical society buildings. Very interesting. While Dad, Kendal & I toured the buildings, Nana & Kennedy were outside busy playing with rocks and sticks which Kennedy now is obessed with too, and I can't seem make it through a parking lot anymore with out having her point out every single rock she sees!
Oh that Nana of her's! haha I'm just glad Kennedy has one girl in her family
that's not afraid to show her how to get dirty!
They saw a train!
Playing at the Park...
Family Bike ride
to the ice cream store!!! OH YEA!
Of course what would a family gathering be if I didn't drag everyone to get pictures taken! Everyone knows I have always been extremely sad about missing out on having grandparents so I have made it one of my missions to build as many memories as possible for Kennedy with her "Grammy Papa Nana and Pa"
Pictures are part of that mission, I love how the photos turned out and couldn't
have asked for anything more!
My Favorite!
Out to dinner later that evening!
Took the in-laws downtown on the subway...quite the adventure!
Waiting for our train...passing out kisses!
On our last day with Nana and Pa we drove to Sandusky, Ohio and visited one of the indoor waterparks (Great Wolf Lodge) Kennedy loves swimming and we had a blast! Our room was awesome and it was the perfect way to end our time together! The last time we went to a waterpark I completely forgot to take pictures...I was sure to be armed and ready this time around!
They have a pajama party every evening with a puppet show and bed time story! She loved it!
Hugging Wiley the Wolf!
Special bed time treat! The biggest milk shake she will ever see!
The next morning Kendal, Kennedy and I went for a drive through an animal park. I of course, was FREAKING out and would NOT roll down my window but enjoyed looking at all of the animals!
UMM, this guy was HUGE!
and while I was freaking out over the buffalo's head in the car Kendal said look out your window and this is what I saw! OMG...HE WAS EVEN BIGGER! Kendal tried rolling down my window but I caught it in the nick of time! I later find out during our NEXT animal adventure (yes folks, there are more animals to come) that I actually really love these big creatures (Elk) and never want to hear of my father-in-law hunting another one!!! (Kendal says good luck w/ that) lol!
Out to dinner with My Love!
Kendal and I went on a little get-a-way to Amish Country this week! I am now facinated with the Amish and must of asked 100 questions! You wouldn't think of Amish Country as being a great vacation but I have to tell you...it was the most relaxing 2 days I can remember in a really long time. Such a different yet enjoyable pace!
We Stayed in a bed and breakfast that was beyond amazing! They had fresh baked Amish cookies waiting for us when we walked in our Suite! Kendal grabbed his plate and curled up on the couch before I could even get my shoes off! haha!
Kendal and I had the opportunity to go on our own buggy ride through an Amish run animal farm! (I know, more animals... haha)
Our driver's name was Adam and he was the one who filled me in on everything Amish! I would have taken his picture but it is against their religion So our horses butt with have to do!
DISGUSTING!!!
5 minutes after the start of our ride this thing comes out of no where making crazy loud noises and charging our buggy. Our horse got spooked and took off. I spent the rest of the ride shaking and clinging to Kendal!!! Craziest looking Cow I've ever seen!
Proof I gained enough courage to actually feed them! And I will admit it...I LOVED IT! But still NO BIRDS! Everytime I saw one of the Ostriches fast approaching I made Adam move right along~ When it comes to Birds and Reptiles, I will not budge!
HOLY TAMOLE! These guys are GIANTS but so cute and hilarious to feed!
After the animals we had a picnic lunch that was packed for us by our B&B!
Then we toured an Amish home! Very VERY simple! I said I would like to be Amish for a day. Kendal said he couldn't do it! He would miss his "gadgets" too much!
Life is now back to normal. Kendal is safe and sound in Korea again and the count down is underway!
Papa Jr!
Beep Beep!
Only 98 more days until we head back to Charleston! We are more than excited to get on with the next chapter of our lives!
Kendal, having you home was one of the greatest gifts ever! Watching you and Kennedy together lights me up! Thank you for being the worlds greatest Hubs and Daddy! We can never tell you in words how much we love you!! We miss you already...hurry home!!
